The 38th Annual Blue Ridge Invitational Golf Tournament
It is our special honor to dedicate this year's tournament to JT Nichols. JT has been a part of our lodge since its beginning over 50 years ago. He has served our lodge for many years as secretary, ER, trustee, and chaired many committees. He has held multiple offices at the State level including the high office of State President; he has served on the board of advisors for many years as well as the state trustees. This is why we call him 'MR. ELK'. JT; we thank you for many years of friendship and support.
We've once again secured two beautiful and challenging courses to play this year. On Saturday, we'll be at Silo Run Golf Course, a championship layout proclaimed by VisitNC.com as the "Hidden Piedmont Powerhouse". On Sunday, we'll enjoy the challenges of golf at an altitude of 3000 feet as we take on Skyland Lakes Golf Club.
Don't forget to purchase your Red Tees and Mulligans for each day. They may come in handy. You'll also want to secure your spot in our "closest to the pin" competition for both days as well as the (new to the Blue Ridge Invitational) Blue Ridge Putting Championship. Whether good or lucky, you'll have the opportunity to pick up an easy $5000. There will also be prizes awarded for both the longest and straightest drives for each day.
Our flight winners and runners-up will each receive a prize. We'll have other prizes for our best golfers and even awards for for some of our "not-quite-the-best" golfers. There'll be entertainment at the Elks Lodge on both Friday and Saturday nights, lots of door prizes on Sunday afternoon, 50/50's, and who knows what else. Through both golf and great fellowship be prepared to have a great time the entire weekend.
We want to thank the participants for helping our Lodge fulfill our mission in serving our community. Mount Airy Elks Lodge #2061 supports, among others, the Elks Christmas Fund, our local American Red Cross, Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care, The Shepard's House, Foothills Food Pantry, our local law enforcement and rescue agencies, our nation's veterans, and of course, fellow elks with special needs. You're helping us to realize the best of both worlds: We all get to enjoy a great weekend of Elks fun and help our community at the same time. THANK YOU!
